Siemens Gamesa has unveiled a new 2.75MW turbine “designed to address the diverse wind conditions of the American market”.
The Spain-based OEM claimed the SG 2.7-129, with a 129-metre rotor, delivers an 8%-plus increase in annual energy production compared to the SG 2.6-120 that it supercedes.
The new machine is aimed at medium- to low-wind US sites, and according to Siemens Gamesa “features modularised components for increased flexibility and reliability”.
