The Global Wind Organisation (GWO), a non-profit representing wind turbine manufacturers and operators covering more than two thirds of the market, has renewed its campaign to expand standardised health and safety training for industry technicians across the world, bringing in Acciona Energía health and safety chief Eloy Jáuregui to chair the body’s steering committee.

The GWO last year provided certified safety training to more than 43,000 technicians from 135 countries but the growth of the global wind business has led to duplication of safety training and jacked-up associated costs, slowing personnel deployment times and cutting into efficiencies.
