An American Electric Power (AEP) subsidiary's request for preapproval to fully recover its anticipated $1.36bn share of costs from ratepayers for the landmark Wind Catcher Energy Connection project has suffered an initial setback in Oklahoma.

Mary Candler, the Oklahoma Corporation Commission (OCC) administrative law judge presiding over regulatory hearings on the proposed 2GW wind farm and related 360-mile (580km) transmission line, is recommending denial of the cost recovery application.
