Brown Forman Corp., which produces the iconic whiskey Jack Daniel’s, became the first major US spirits and wine company to commit to a long-term purchase agreement for wind power.

Under the fixed-price deal with Infinity Renewables involving the Solomon Forks project in Kansas, Brown Forman will purchase 30MW of capacity annually over a 15-year period.

Brown Forman is based in Louisville, Kentucky, a state in the heart of US coal country that has not installed a single megawatt of commercial wind power.
