Additions of new onshore and offshore wind plants last year were one of the factors helping Vattenfall to return to a net profit for the first time in five years, while the Swedish utility also has pledged to continue heavy investments into renewable energy generation.
“Wind power made a major contribution in 2017, more than doubling its earnings in pace with the commissioning of new assets,” chief executive Magnus Hall said.
