What will it take to achieve a flourishing global offshore wind industry and realise the business potential of this abundant renewable resource?

Until now, offshore wind has played second fiddle to solar and onshore. Even in Europe, where offshore is most advanced, it accounts for only 8% of renewables generating capacity. This is despite the fact that capacity from Northern Europe’s sea basins could deliver 10 to 20 times the current levels by 2030 with the right support.
