As the Indian government prepares for its annual Union Budget tomorrow (1 February), domestic wind power pioneer Suzlon Energy set out a list of policies it wants to see introduced to keep the country’s renewable energy build-out moving.

Suzlon founder and chairman Tulsi Tanti urged reinstatement of accelerated deprecation at 80% for wind and solar projects below 25MW. Tanti also wants India’s treasury to bring back generation-based incentive (GBI) measures for smaller developments, as well as wind-solar hybrids and repowering projects.
