Chinese investors have signed a deal to build the first wind power project in the Central Asian state of Kyrgyzstan.

Two Chinese companies inked an agreement to build a 50MW wind project at Balykchy in the Kyrgyz Republic.

The deal was signed between Shanghai Yin Qian Investment Co. (Yin Qian) and China Energy Engineering Corp’s (CEEC’s) Xinjiang Division. Under the agreement, CEEC – China’s biggest energy EPC contractor – will be in charge of the design of the wind farm, starting from resources assessment at the project site.
