AMSC won its first 5.5MW electrical control systems (ECS) order from Doosan Heavy Industries that the South Korea industrial giant intends to use in an offshore wind turbine prototype.
“Doosan’s investment in AMSC’s wind turbine design and proprietary ECS aligns with South Korea’s commitment to renewable energy utilising offshore wind power,” says AMSC chief executive Daniel McGahn.
