GE Renewable Energy has installed its first Haliade 150-6 MW turbine at the Fujian Xinghua Gulf demonstration project off China.

The Haliade is one of three to be deployed by the US manufacturer at the 73MW plant, which will feature turbines from a variety of suppliers.

GE, whose involvement was first revealed by Recharge in March 2017, said the installation makes it the only OEM with an offshore wind turbine operating on three continents – Europe, the US and now Asia.
