US developer sPower has placed a debut order with OEM Vestas to underpin 400MW of future projects as it continues its push into the wind sector.
sPower ordered 2MW and 4MW-compatible turbine components from the Danish group qualifying for 80% of the US production tax credit (PTC) incentive, the developer said in a statement.
Founded in 2012 to focus on solar investments, sPower has been one of the fastest growing renewables operators in the US market since 2014, with 13GW either in operation, construction or pipeline.
