EDF Energies Nouvelles, the renewables-focused unit of French energy giant EDF, has commissioned its 224MW Nicolas-Riou wind farm in southeastern Quebec, Canada.

The C$500m ($403.5m) wind farm is comprised of 65 Vestas wind turbines, each with 3.45MW capacity. Danish player Vestas is set to service the machines for a period of 10 years. The deal marked the first order in Canada for Vestas’ 3MW platform.
