US wind development giant Invenergy has invested in a specialist in cybersecurity, a sector it believes will help “define the future of energy”.

The Invenergy Future Fund – Invenergy’s investment arm backing innovative energy companies – led a $15m Series B funding round in Nozomi Networks, described as a pioneer in industrial control cybersecurity.

Invenergy – one of North America’s largest wind developers, with the 2GW Wind Catcher project among its pipeline – claimed the investment comes amid fast-growing demand for cybersecurity systems.
