The US Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) has rejected the Trump administration’s controversial proposal to pay coal-fired and nuclear power stations for providing electric grid resiliency and reliability services as legally flawed and premature.
Instead, it initiated a new process seeking more information from grid operators within 60 days about whether there is a problem with resilience and, if so, what should be done about it.
