Cape Wind’s developer has conceded what most in the US offshore wind sector have known for several years: the pioneering project is dead in the water.

Boston-based Energy Management Inc. (EMI) has formally ceased development efforts and given up its federal lease rights to the 46 square mile (119 sq km) zone in Nantucket Sound, south of Massachusetts’ Cape Cod that would have hosted its project of up to 468MW.
