Bangkok-based Wind Energy Holding (WEH) claimed a major advance for Thailand’s wind sector after raising 37bn baht ($1.1bn) to build 450MW in what’s said to be the largest financing of turbine capacity in the country to date.

WEH – a unit of KPN Group – closed financing for five projects in the country’s Northeast with Siam Commercial Bank, which noted the strong wind resources in the region and the use of the latest technology by the developer.
