Germany-based wind OEM Senvion has joined offshore wind sector partners to apply for funding under the EU’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme for its ‘RealLCoE’ project for development of a 10MW-plus turbine.

Among the 150 participants in the RealLCoE project is utility EnBW, which won a tender with a zero-subsidy bid for the 900MW He Dreith offshore project in the German North Sea, and recently set up a Dutch unit to enable it to bid in an upcoming zero-subsidy auction for the 700MW Hollandse Kust South 1&2 zone in the Netherlands.
