The pioneering 50MW Kincardine floating wind project off Scotland is on track to have a maiden turbine in the water “next summer” – but not the envisaged 6.2MW Senvion machine – project developer Pilot Offshore Resources’ chief executive Allan MacAskill has revealed.

The £300m ($394m) development cleared for construction off Aberdeen in 45-143 metres of water will be built around as many as seven ultra-large-model machines.
