Challenging conditions on the Iberian Peninsula that has been plagued by a drought this year have dragged down profit at Italian utility Enel in the third quarter of 2017.

Revenues increased by 5.3% in the third quarter to €54.19bn ($62.85bn) from a year earlier thanks to greater revenues from the sale of electricity to end users and the transport of electricity, as well as from more electricity trading and fuel sales, which were only partly offset by the impact of changes in the scope of consolidation.
