Revenue and earnings decreased at Danish wind turbine maker Vestas in the third quarter of 2017 despite a continued healthy order intake as competition is heating up and profitability decreases.

Investors were disappointed by the earnings drop that was coupled with a lowering of the company's full-year Ebit-margin guidance, with Vestas shares plunging 19.41% to DKr425.10 ($66.42) in early afternoon trading in Kopenhagen.
