At the start of the COP 23 UN Climate Change Conference in Bonn, Germany’s government has pledged to support developing countries with an additional €100m ($115.9m) to adapt to climate change.
The federal environment ministry has pledged €50m to the Adaptation Fund and the federal ministry for economic cooperation and development is contributing another €50m to the Least Developed Countries Fund which provides targeted support in climate change adaptation to the poorest countries.
