A joint venture led by Norway’s Statkraft has dropped plans for 370MW in Sweden, citing “challenging” market conditions there.

The seven projects were planned by Statkraft Södra Vindkraft (SSVKAB), the utility’s JV with Södra, an association of Swedish forestry owners.

Johan Boström, head of Swedish asset ownership for wind power at Statkraft, told Recharge: “Since around 2010, when the projects were first being planned, both electricity and certificate prices have dropped quite significantly.
