US offshore developer Deepwater Wind has committed to using the Port of New Bedford, in southern Massachusetts, for its proposed 144MW Revolution project should it win an off-take contract, estimating the project would bring 700 direct construction jobs to the region.

Deepwater and rival offshore developers Vineyard Wind and Dong Energy previously signed letters of intent with Massachusetts to use New Bedford’s state-owned Marine Commerce Terminal for any future projects built for the state, but few additional details have been confirmed as the developers are still hunting for off-take deals.
