Onshore wind market-leader Vestas has launched its V120 turbine in China in a bid to meet the growing push to develop low- and ultra-low-wind sites in the country.

The V120-2.0/2.2 MW – first unveiled earlier this year – will be made at the Danish group’s facilities in Tianjin, with first deliveries due in Q3 2018.

The model builds on Vestas’ successful V110 2MW machine, adding features including a 120-metre rotor that the company says helps boost annual production by up to 13%.
