The last of the 70 turbines making up Iberdrola’s €1.4bn ($1.64bn) Wikinger offshore wind farm in the German Baltic Sea is now installed, leaving only final cable-laying work and technical tests before electricity starts flowing from the 350MW project into the onshore grid.

This development, located off the northeastern coast of the island of Rügen, will supply some 350,000 German households, accounting for more than 20% of energy demand in the Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania region.
