UK technology development body the Offshore Renewable Energy Catapult has partnered with the University of Hull to set up an offshore wind operations and maintenance (O&M) centre of excellence in the Humberside region, in northeast England.
The five-year, £2m ($2.65m) collaboration will focus on a series of research and innovation projects targeting improvement to current offshore O&M practices, while “building on the region’s energy heritage, location and experience of servicing UK offshore wind farms”.
