GE Renewable Energy has revealed a new 4.8-158 turbine model, joining an increasingly crowded field of wind OEMs developing onshore turbines rated above 4MW, as it looks for an edge in mature markets like Germany where developers are increasingly focused on lower-wind sites.
A number of OEMs are beginning to offer 4MW+ onshore turbines, including recent announcements from Nordex and Vestas.
