Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy in September will begin laying off 140 employees at its nacelle factory in Hutchinson, Kansas, the vendor’s latest move in North America to “adjust” its workforce and manufacturing footprint in response to a weak sales outlook.
Last month, the company confirmed it will close a rotor blade production plant in southern Ontario, Canada, leaving 340 workers without jobs by the end of first quarter 2018.
