Peterhead Port has won a contract to support construction of the European Offshore Wind Deployment Centre (EOWDC) being developed by Vattenfall off northeast Scotland.

Peterhead Port Authority said it will moor one of the world’s largest floating cranes, which will assist with loading of the innovative suction-bucket jacket foundations to be deployed at the EOWDC in Aberdeen Bay.

Peterhead will accommodate six barges and two specialist offshore installation vessels for the EOWDC, which is due to begin producing power next year.
