Europe added 6.1GW of new wind power in the first half of 2017 according to industry group WindEurope, which said the prospect of a “bumper year for installations hides some worrying trends”.

The 4.8GW of onshore wind added in the January to June period was dominated by Germany with 2.3GW, the UK with 1.2GW and France with 492MW. Turkey was another significant contributor with 378MW.
