Kazakhstan is actively pursuing a state policy on developing renewable energy, with wind energy showing “high potential”, according to the country’s energy minister Kanat Bozumbayev.

The statement comes as the country’s wind energy potential is forecast to be 10 times higher than the current national power consumption, Bozumbayev said during an economic forum in Kazakhstan.
