New onshore wind installations have almost stopped in Poland as a result of a law passed in 2016 that demands a minimum distance of ten times the turbine height between new onshore wind parks and settlements, Wojciech Cetnarski, a former president of the Polish Wind Energy Association (PWEA), told Recharge.

“The development of new wind farms has completely stopped,” Cetnarski said.
