Two-bladed wind turbine pioneer Seawind is on track to install a first full-scale prototype off western Norway next year after securing financial backing from engineering consultancy Enzen.

The funding, which will add to a €15m ($16.9m) loan from Norwegian technology body Enova and “in kind” support from a number of suppliers, will clear the way for a 6.2MW unit mounted on a concrete gravity base foundation from Olav Olsen to be installed at off Karmøy at the Marine Energy Test Centre.
