New York on Friday issued its first call for renewables bids in a series of major procurements expected on the way to its 50% renewables target for 2030, shortly after announcing an “alliance” with California to uphold the Paris climate agreement.

Two state bodies will hold separate solicitations to bring on 2.5 million MWh of renewable power a year by 2022, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo’s office said.
