After selling a 346MW wind complex to UK investor Actis, Brazilian renewable energy developer Casa dos Ventos is hunkering down to weather the current political and economic storm with large cash reserves and a 15GW project pipeline on hand, ready for better days for Brazil’s wind industry.

“I don’t believe there will be a tender this year, but we are behaving as if there will be one, so we’re improving our studies of existing projects for when tenders pick up again,” says Mario Araripe, the company’s founder and CEO.
