Wind power swept the board in a 3GW auction in Spain that sees US turbine supplier GE lined up for one of the biggest deals in the industry’s history after being picked to supply 1.5GW to Forestalia, the green energy group that was the biggest winner in Wednesday's tender.

Forestalia secured the go-ahead to build 1.2GW in Aragon in the auction, which marked Spain’s return to large-scale renewable energy procurement and saw record-low onshore prices of €43/MWh ($47.9/MWh).
