Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy led turbine OEMs with 813MW of new capacity installed in the key US market during the first quarter – 605MW Siemens brand machines and 208MW from Gamesa, the latest American Wind Energy Association data shows.
The result gives the new company temporary bragging rights in the world’s second largest wind market where both Siemens and Gamesa have been losing share in the last two years to leaders Vestas and GE Renewable Energy.
