Sweden and Norway have reached a deal over a Swedish extension to the ‘green certificate’ renewables support scheme jointly operated by the two nations.

The agreement allows Sweden to add a further 18TWh by 2030 to the original 28.4TWh by 2020 goal set under the existing arrangement.

The Swedish and Norwegian governments entered talks following a parting of the ways over the green certificate scheme, which Norway will pull out of at the end of this decade.
