Canadian asset manager Fiera Capital plans to acquire a stake in a 921MW portfolio of eleven US solar and wind projects owned by units of hedge fund D.E. Shaw, underscoring the rapidly expanding presence of Canadian investors in the US renewables market.
Fiera has already acquired an “indirect equity interest” in eight of the projects, with the remaining three to be added in 2017.
