Wobben Windpower – the Brazilian unit of German wind turbine maker Enercon – has signed a deal with local developer Rio Energy to supply 95 of its 2.35MW E92 turbines.
They will equip the 223MW Serra da Babilônia wind complex in the northeastern state of Bahia, which is expected to start commercial operations before the end of 2017. Rio Energy won the 20-year PPAs for the eight wind farms that make up the complex in Brazil’s 2015 reserve tender.
