General Electric has won a deal with Minnesota-based developer Juhl Energy to supply wind turbines and PV equipment to one of the first solar-wind hybrid plants to be built in the US.
The 4.6MW project will pair two of GE’s 2.3-116 wind turbines with solar power conversion equipment from GE’s Current business unit, integrating the solar panels directly through the turbine converters – allowing the two generation technologies to share the same balance of plant.
