RES Americas, among North America’s most important renewables developers, has opened a new chapter by signing a massive joint development agreement with Southern Company, which it says could open the door to future “collaborations” with other serial project buyers.

Last week Southern Power, the competitive generation arm of US utility giant Southern Company, announced it has forged a 3GW wind power pact with RES, saying it has bought enough wind turbines from Siemens and Vestas to build 10 wind farms between 2018 and 2020 that will be eligible for the full production tax credit (PTC).
