Stepping off the train in Hull, the UK’s business and energy secretary Greg Clark took a special interest in the statue of the controversial English poet Philip Larkin, who famously described the city as “a little on the edge of things”.
Larkin meant Hull is on the margins, but now the city is at the cutting edge of the global offshore wind industry thanks to Britain’s world-leading ambitions in the sector and some serious German investment.
