Assheuer spoke over the telephone from Beijing, where the signing ceremony for the sale took place today in presence of German Chancellor Angela Merkel, who is on a visit in China, and Li Keqiang, the premier of China's state council.
"I am grateful to have partnered with the Blackstone team to make possible such a significant contribution to Germany's clean power efforts," Assheuer was quoted as saying later in a note by Blackstone.
