The developments were awarded the funding via the Access Co-Development Facility (ACF), a financial support mechanism for African renewables projects.

The winners are developers Mentach Energy for a 50MW wind development in Lagos, Nigeria; Ages for a 25MW solar farm in Bo, Sierra Leone; and Stucky for a 25MW solar-hydro hybrid project in Talaviana, Madagascar.

The companies will enter a joint development agreement with Access Power, which will take an equity stake in the projects and fund third-party development costs, including feasibility studies, grid studies, environmental and social impact assessments and due-diligence fees.
