The Danish-Japanese joint venture is in line to provide its V164-8.0 MW machines to the 11-turbine project, also known as Aberdeen Offshore Wind Farm, said lead developer Vattenfall and partner Aberdeen Renewable Energy Group (AREG).

The wind OEM was named along with J Murphy & Sons and Boskalis, which are line for the onshore and offshore infrastructure contracts respectively.

Adam Ezzamel, project director for the EOWDC at Vattenfall, said the developers’ ambition for the development EOWDC “includes installing game-changing suction bucket jacket foundations.
