“The Block Island wind farm is now fully constructed,” Jeff Grybowski, chief executive of developer Deepwater Wind, said in a Twitter post.

GE Renewable Energy supplied the turbines. Brave Tern transported the French-manufactured nacelles across the Atlantic Ocean to the project site near Block Island - a popular summer tourist destination located about 13 miles (21km) from the mainland.

Work will continue on the turbines’ electrical connections and a system National Grid owns and will operate that includes a subsea cable and onshore infrastructure.
