Connecticut-based Noble, which owns 726MW of operating wind capacity in New York and Texas – all of it built with GE turbines – filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in a Delaware court this week, after being unable to services its debt load.

Chapter 11 allows companies to restructure their debts, and most eventually reemerge as operating businesses.

Noble was the 21st largest owner of US wind capacity at the beginning of 2016, according to AWEA figures, with a portfolio that includes the 100.5MW
