The Zuiderzeewind consortium between contractor Van Oord and turbine OEM Siemens Gamesa has started to install monopile foundations at the 383MW nearshore Windpark Fryslân, which will be the largest yet to be constructed on a lake.
Due to the shallows in the Ijsselmeer artificial lake and the width of its locks, it is not possible to work with standard offshore wind vessels or equipment.
