Oregon Iron Works, a 65-year-old company that is developing a niche in ocean energy technology, will build one of the 150 kilowatt capacity PowerBuoy PB150s for Phase One of OPT’s Reedsport Power Station Project.
The PB150 is a 115-foot (35 metre) tall, steel buoy that rises and falls with the waves, creating a mechanical stroking that drives a generator. Most of the device is under water.
